The World Family Organization and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research – UNITAR in partnership with the Santa Catarina State Government, the Balneário Camboriú Municipality, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the United Nations Division for Inclusive Sustainable Development, the United Nations Financing for Sustainable Development Office and the United Nations NGO Branch, have the honour to invite you to the World Family Summit 2023, which also will Celebrate of UNITAR’S 60 TH Anniversary.
Theme: “InvestInFamilies”- Accelerating the 2020-2030 Decade of Actionand the full implementation of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development Goals at Subnational and Local Levels.
In launching the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development the United Nations Member States and the Society as a whole recognized that the dignity of the individual is fundamental and the Agenda’s goals and targets should be met for all nations and people and for all segments of society.
Leaving no one behind is the overarching principle and transforming the Agenda’s commitments into effective actions requires a precise understanding of the target population. Women, men, children, youth, older persons, persons with disability, people living with HIV, indigenous people, refugees, internally displaced persons and migrants, all of them have in common the fact that they belong to a Family living at Local Level.
Supporting Subnational and Local Authorities and Families to implement the Agenda 2030 with all its 17 SDGs is an exceptional opportunity to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic crisis by promoting better community integration with the public sector leading to renewed hope, harmony, growth and job creation while ensuring sustainability.
We are proud to announce that the World Family Summit 2023 will highlight the SDG 11 and 17 – Sustainable Cities and Strong Communities – linked to the Social, Economic and Environmental Dimensions of the SDGs.
